Back from my holiday

While in Pittsburg I visited an old cemetary in search of what I call "grave art"....not everyone understands this but I do love walking thru cemetaries and this is one of the images I found. I thought it was pretty cool. If you'd like to see more, click on the flickr badge to the right.

This little squirrel was just asking to have his picture taken!

Visiting Pittsburgh

I'm flying out to Pittsburgh, the city of rivers and bridges.....across the mountains and thru the woods to my daughters' house I go! This picture was taken from the top of the cable car ride. I'll catch up with you all when I return.

Finally finished!

A little truth about myself is that I'm such a self-doubter and that I take an unbelieveable amount of time with paintings like this. I actually started this one after christmas and it sat for months as I looked at that face and tried to decide how I would complete her look. So here it is...I'm calling it finished...it's in my etsy shop...and I titled it, "Girl with the auburn hair".

Happy Mother's Day

My most recent painting which I was commissioned to do for a store....I think the text says it all.
If you are ever in New Hope, Pa., stop by New Hope Shoes on North Main St. and you'll see my painting on the wall! Of course if you need a really great pair of fashionable yet comfortable shoes or a great handbag my good friends Carol or Gary will be there to help (or sometimes, I'll be there in their place). New Hope is a fun little river town which is home to many local artists and the streets are lined with some unique shops, galleries and restaurants and throughout the year the town is host to many festivals.

White on White

Simplicity at it's best! Yesterday was a beautiful day here in my little world and while walking thru our garden I spotted this natural vignette and wanted to share it with you. There was this bumble bee buzzing from flower to flower and the second picture was the best shot I got of him.

May Day

You might know of an old-fashion late 20th century tradition of anonymously leaving a basket of flowers on a friend's doorstep to celebrate the first day of May. This is my "cyber" version of that tradition sent out to all my blogger friends. These are forget-me-nots from my garden. Happy May Day!!
